As a travel influencer I have to write the true so people don’t fall for a trap…I will call these
paradise, hell for real guest
I’m not a fanatic influencer so these was
hell for me.
I may be a bit consumed by anger while still here for last
night at Azulik as what it was supposed to be a stay at a
leading supercharged hotel in Tulum – it turned into
disappointment and total waste of money.
don’t like to talk bad about hotels, I like to
review-a hotel based In my experience.
So let’s talk about this hotel, well it’s not a bad
hotel if all you want it’s to take pictures for Instagram. (not my case)
THE FIRST IMPRESSION
After visiting the Azulik hotel already in 2019 with some friends when we just came for dinner in their famous restaurant Kin Toh and got treated like “second-class guests”,
I thought that the experience would probably be a lot better if you’re an actual guest that stays at the hotel. So I gave the Instagram famous hotel another chance and regularly booked a room. But oh.. How little did we know.
The Check In process went smoothly , the hotel tour was very exciting.
We stayed in a sea villa which reminded me of a tree house with ocean view – just like I expected it. But when we entered the room I was surprised that was no shower 🚿
And dont forget to plug in your sences (when eg you think room is too dark, because living in dark is a gift?)
we just had ONE power outlet in the whole room and NO electric lights. Instead you find candles in your room. They are nice for a romantic evening (if you’re with a partner) but don’t light up the room after sunset at all, so we used our phone flashlight instead…
Us 1700$ + daily charges and taxes that’s the cheapest you can stay in these hotel around spring break time . Rooms go up to $15000 so overrated.
Beautiful view but no air conditioner, not to sound like a princess but when I pay 1700$ a night I was to be comfortable!
You’ll be sweating at night and awake ina bed.
Do not fool yourself, and don’t believe the ratings of the influencers who it’s not doing their job and only
posting pretty pictures on this hotel.
I take my job seriously and I am not a bakery so
no sugar coat here!
Nightly music until 2am from their Night Club,
blaming it on the neighbuing hotel –
False, your room will beshaking!
Room service is a disasters, no idea how to
cater and awaiting your tip each and
every time they lift their
eyes for you.
Everything in the name of
relaxation, meditation, bla
Mexican people in general are extremely kind and welcoming but the staff at the Azulik in Tulum has been mostly arrogant and unfriendly. It’s like Guest Service doesn’t really exist at this hotel.
If you wanna use your camera you have to pay a daily fee of 350,- USD!” If you want to use your drone it’s 500$ ?! WTF 😳
RÉSUMÉ – IS THE AZULIK TULUM WORTH THE HYPE?
Hell NO! I’ve never experienced anything like this before!!! We were so lucky that we only stayed for one night and didn’t waste our money to be treated unwanted and disrespectful any longer. The Azulik definitely has an eye catching design and is super photogenic. But what’s the point if you don’t allow guests to take pictures and if you don’t give your own guests access to the best spots in the hotel?
My personal conclusion :
I will always remember Azulik as
Azulik is also a first hotel in my life
life to leave bruises of guilt to fail in a trap of the most overrated and overpriced comedy piece of my life .
stop dreaming, this is gutter of new Tulum …
Tulum changed. Not to good I am afraid. And though there
may be cool and professional resorts (group BeTulum and
NoMad, Casa Malca
outside of Tulum centre), Azulik stands out as a symbol of
the dark side of the new reality – pretentious and shallow!
Some pics attached, it does look tempting but dont
you dare 🙂
